KVK Designs: Celebrating a 26-Year Journey in Artisan Craftsmanship
Hi, I’m Kristin, the creator of KVK Designs. My creative journey began early—at just 11 years old, I was accepted into the Boston Ballet Company. That experience shaped my appreciation for creativity, discipline, and detail. ✨
After my ballet career, I studied art and communications in college, but my hands couldn't stop creating. My business officially began 26 years ago with a single natural stone necklace I made from pyrite. When the owner of the gift shop I managed asked where I’d found such an unusual piece, I told her I had made it. She immediately invited me to sell them in her store, and I knew I had found my calling.
What started with those first sales grew into a full line of jewelry once featured in boutiques nationwide. Today, I have intentionally returned to my roots, focusing exclusively on creating small-batch, artisan-made pieces directly for my customers.
Our Collaborative Studio & Global Collective 🌿
Today, KVK Designs is a vibrant, hybrid studio. I personally design many pieces in my studio, often collaborating with my talented friends and family—like Nick, our expert bench jeweler, and Becky, our mixed-media artist.
To bring more global artistry to you, I also partner with skilled artisan collectives in Nepal, Thailand, Guatemala, Kenya, and India. Whether I am designing a piece from scratch or curating a traditional craft, I work closely with these partners to ensure every item reflects a shared love for heritage and and quality. 🌍
From the initial design to the final photography, I am hands-on every step of the way. Every item is received, inspected, and shipped by me personally to ensure it meets my 26-year standard of excellence. I’m rarely alone in the office, though—my studio cat and official mascot, Lulu, is usually nearby supervising with her daily "office zoomies!" 🐾🌙
